Online Stories
Nunkie started streaming live readings and performances of classic tales (many, but not, all supernatural) in 2018: works by the likes of Arthur Machen, H P Lovecraft, E G Swain, The Benson Brothers, Arthur Conan Doyle and many more. During the lockdowns of 2020 and 2021 this became - and has remained - an important part of the unit’s work.
There are roughly ten pay-what-you-can M R James broadcasts each year – including one every Christmas Eve – but much of the output is free-to-view, and you can catch up with it on the Nunkie YouTube channel below (please subscribe when you visit.) The YouTube channel is also host to Nunkie’s M R James documentaries – Wits In Felixstowe, Dim Presences and The Shrew Ash, and the archive of a much-loved online storytelling pub, The Nunkie Arms, which ran from March 2021 – March 2025.
If you’d like to support these broadcasts, and Nunkie’s work in general, you can become a Patron below. There are various levels of support and rewards available.
